Album Description |
|
Limited deluxe edition contains two bonus tracks ('Dead Inside' and 'Would It Matter') as well as Fanbase enhancement and fan club insert. 2009 release, Skillet's eighth studio album, Awake, recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson. The foursome's overwhelmingly satisfied with the entire sonic and thematic palette throughout Awake, which is loaded with plenty of anthems in the making destined to be smash singles and concert sing-a-longs. Skillet's massive fan base (who affectionately refer to themselves as "Panheads") are sure to agree, though they'll likely be even more impressed with the lyrical outpouring, which remains a top priority for the players. The album contains 12 tracks, including 'Monster' which were added to their live set during their Comatose Tour, and the single 'Hero'. |

I bought this CD for my niece who absolutely enjoys Skillet. It is one of the most popular CD's among my 6 nieces and nephews. |

More great hits from Skillet |
|
I was first introduced to Skillet when searching for music to listen to while writing one of my stories and I picked up their album "Comatose" at a used book store not knowing if I'd like them or not. In few words, I fell in love and they quickly became a favorite artist of mine. "Awake" continues the stylings of "Comatose" with fourteen new tracks that are as good as and even better than their previous music. "Hero," "Monster," and "Awake and Alive" are my favorites, but I'll listen to all of them hours on end. If you liked their album "Comatose," you'll love "Awake." |

Awesome CD -> Gotta get the DELUXE EDITION!! |
This is an awesome CD, and is BETTER than Comatose!
There are 3 tracks in the middle that are not as strong as the rest:
5. One Day Too Late
6. It's Not Me It's You
7. You Should've When You Could've
If you loved Comatose and feel disappointed, I'm guessing that these 3 songs are where you feel the CD loses momentum. I'm sure some people really like these, but they don't have the same edge as the rest. Unfortunately they are also consecutive on the CD, so if you're not into them the disappointment will build.
But ALL the other songs are awesome! ESPECIALLY THE 2 BONUS TRACKS, that are 2 of the strongest songs on the CD! (The other bonus track is a duplicate / alternate song). Sorry to anyone that got the regular version, but the Deluxe version is worth upgrading to.
If you are disappointed at all, DO THIS:
Burn a copy of the DELUXE version and skip those 3 songs!
You'll have an 11 song CD (same # of tunes as Comatose) that rocks from start to finish!
Then compare it to Comatose, and you'll see what I mean.
BTW - Skillet rocks live! Can't wait to see them again this summer opening for Creed!
ROCK ON!
