Product Description |
|
2 CD edition. History rocked and rock made history during a sold-out three-gig stand at Madison Square Garden in late February 2008 when icons Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood performed a concert together for the first time since their all-too-brief days in the legendary Blind Faith in 1969. Whether they will ever team again is unknown. But with Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood Live From Madison Square Garden, fans everywhere are able to experience the sound and the glory of a performance on that famous stage by two of rock's greatest artists. |

The Best of Two Greats |
|
As a fan of both Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood, these two CDs present both at their very best! Not only is the singing great, the guitar playing is fantastic! I listen while driving, which helps me negotiate the stresses of the daily commute! Usually I find tracks that I like best, but with these CDs, I love them all! |

did not work |
|
fresh out of the pack, I popped it into my Blueray.. never go to the menu but to a looping screen of an auditorium and did nothing more!! .. had to go out and buy a copy from the store. .. rare bad experiences with Evangelismbookstore.com. |

In it for the money? |
|
These two artists were the forefront of rock, jazzrock, blues in the sixties and early seventies. Now, they definitely put out a labored, unexciting set. For anyone thrilled by live Cream, live Traffic esp. Last Exit--whats going on? Its sad there is no one to take on the mantle. Eric's Rainbow Concert has more excitement and tension--35 plus years ago... |

Had To Be There? |
Eric Clapton/Steve Winwood - Live From Madison Square Garden
Lots of reviews on this already but wanted to add my 2 cents worth. Overall, I would say this is less than the sum of the parts and a missed opportunity. For the most part, Clapton dominates this and it feels like another live Clapton show of which there are way too many already. While the musicianship is stellar, nothing here seems to catch fire or be particularly inspired. There was a decent attempt to add some songs not usually played by either of the marquee musicians but many of the tracks fall flat and most have been bettered on previous efforts whether on studio or live tracks from years past.
The reunion of these two was a great idea and long overdue. I have not seen the DVD but just cannot recommend this CD as essential listening for fans of either Clapton or Winwood. Very average stuff - maybe you had to be there to get the magic of the show? |

Simply Brilliant |
|
Yeah it's not 1969 but these two put on a great, great show. Clapton sings and plays with intent, spurred on by Steve Winwoods excellent signing and keyboards. The backing band is tight and keeps out of the way so we can enjoy a second go round with these two masters revisiting some stellar songs from their vaults. |
